(1 session = up to 30 minutes)

Learn the basics of your own industrial sewing machine with our Virtual Technician working alongside you, assisting you with learning about your own industrial sewing machine in the comfort of your own premises.

Our Learn the Basics session covers the following topics:

  • Troubleshooting basic issues
  • Threading your machine
  • Changing your needle
  • Correct installation of needle
  • Winding a bobbin
  • Changing a bobbin
  • Understanding bobbin tension
  • Understanding upper tension
  • When to adjust foot pressure
  • Cleaning and oiling your machine
  • Understanding needle sizing and type
  • Checking your oil level

WHEN PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT:
IMPORTANT when you are confirming this purchase you will need to tell us the following in step 6 "Notes and Special Requests" of your shopping cart:

  • A Preferred day for your Virtual Technician session and advise if you would like your session in the morning (8:00pm to 12:00pm), or the afternoon (1:00pm to 5:00pm).
  • After-hours sessions may be available upon request, subject to availability.

  • Once we have received your order, one of our friendly staff will contact you to confirm your machine and model number, along with what mobile phone you are using.
    For example: 
    - Apple iPhone or iPad (Facetime)
     - Samsung or Android (Duo)
     - WhatsApp

VIRTUAL REQUIREMENTS:
It is important that you have a reasonable internet connection connected to your device (ie. phone or tablet) that you will be using for your live SMA Virtual Technician session.

When you're ready to begin your Virtual Technician session it would be handy if you can have a second person available to assist you with holding your device (phone or tablet) but not necessary.

TOOLS & PARTS REQUIRED:
To make the best use of your time with your SMA Virtual Technician, please have the following tools readily available prior to beginning the session. This will avoid wasting valuable time with your technician and offer you the absolute best value for money.

  • Spare needles
  • Short screwdriver or allen key capable of changing the needle
  • Thread and fabric suitable for testing
  • Patience

IMPORTANT:
With over 60 years of combined technical experience, our Virtual Technicians can help you maintain, repair and understand your industrial sewing machine, however, we do ask that you please understand, repairs and maintenance to electrical systems are NOT covered by SMA Virtual Technicians as this can only be completed by a qualified electrician.  It is your responsibility to ensure that your machine is both electrically and mechanically safe to operate, as well as wearing the appropriate PPE.
